Government wants to reduce procedural pending to 80% by 2025-2026

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, announced on Wednesday, the country has increased the number of procedural pending, but assured that the Government aims to reduce them to 80 percent (%) in the horizon 2025-2026.

The Government gave this information to the press as part of her visit on Wednesday to the University of Cabo Verde and Uni-Piaget, with the purpose to know better the reality of the institutions and establishing a fruitful dialogue with its leaders, aiming at higher education at the service of the development of Cabo Verde.

According to the Minister, the country has a high number of pending procedural, mainly at the Attorney General’s Office, with 63.000 cases pending and at the level of the Court with 11.000 cases.

She has therefore stressed that the Government is working on a plan to reduce pending procedural issues, which will be presented shortly under the “Justice Plus” programme, to show Cabo Verdean society the work has been done, as well as the measures are being taken in consultation with the Superior Councils.
