Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government has already confirmed to make investment of around 66 million escudos in the next five years in the tourist valorization of the villages Monte Trigo and Tarrafal, in the municipality of Porto Novo, Santo Antão.
The City Hall welcomes the fact that these two villages are part of the group of 18 rural villages that, in five years, will be beneficiaries with investments around 918 million escudos in the renovation of housing, landscape arrangements, sanitation, training, business promotion, among other areas.
A note from the City Hall explains that the project on the valorization of rural villages in Cabo Verde, lasting five years, covers the islands of Santo Antão, São Nicolau, Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Brava. In Santo Antão there are four villages (Monte Trigo, Tarrafal, Fontainhas and Figueiral do Paul) to benefit from this project.
Monte Trigo and Tarrafal are two villages with strong potential for the development of rural tourism, fishing, agriculture and with strong cultural, historical attractions and a great diversity of landscape beauty.
