Africa-Press – Cape verde. The new Assomada Health Center, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, Santiago, will be inaugurated this Tuesday, July 26th. The same will strengthen the health care provided in this health region.
Recently, in an interview with Inforpress, the health delegate of Santa Catarina, Elisângela Tavares, said that the construction of the new Health Center in Assomada, whose works started in July 2019, will strengthen the Health system, especially in terms of provision of care.
“We have great expectations regarding the opening of the new Assomada Health Center (…). We have a feeling of optimism, because the Health Center will strengthen the Health system, especially in terms of care”, he said.

The same highlighted the conditions for physiotherapy and among other valences that, at the moment, do not exist in the current Health Center.
According to the same source, the current health establishment, which operates from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, is “small”, so it does not have several services provided in the country’s health centers.
The new health structure is, according to the Government, a building that will house the headquarters of the Santa Catarina Health Department, the services of the Reproductive Health Center of Assomada, gynecology, pediatrics, radiology, stomatology services, among other services provided by the country’s health centers.
Investment
The works were financed by the Kuwait Fund and the Government, in an investment of PTE 125,000, in addition to PTE 60,000 for the purchase of equipment.
According to a note from the Technical Office of the North Santiago Sanitary Region (RSSN), the unveiling of the plaque for this new health infrastructure is scheduled for 4:00 pm and will be chaired by the Prime Minister, José Ulisses Correia e Silva. .
