In a statement, quoted by Inforpress, the ETE Group, the majority shareholder of CV Interilhas, clarifies that, under the terms of the concession, rights and obligations are enshrined for both parties, which must be fully complied with.
“It should be clarified that the grantor has been in default of its financial obligations, since the beginning of the concession, in 2019, to the point that currently the high debt accumulated to CV Interilhas already amounts to 9.5 million euros”, he denounced.
Fulfillment of obligations
In this sense, he considered that it will only be possible to offer a regular, reliable and safe inter-island maritime transport service for passengers and cargo to the Cape Verdean population, if everyone is available to cooperate and fulfill their obligations, in a loyal and competent manner. .
CV Inter-ilhas believes that this is the only way the concessionaire can invest in the quality of the mobility services it provides, so that the existing offer fully meets the needs of passengers and their comfort and well-being.
“Only in this way will the concessionaire be able to continue investing in the renewal of the fleet, in order to guarantee greater reliability of the service”, he explained.
However, the ETE Group, through CV Interilhas, assured that it maintains its commitment to the population of Cape Verde and will continue to cooperate closely with the State, in order to continue fulfilling its mission.

“With regard to the Chiquinho BL ship, so that it can serve the São Nicolau route, it is necessary to overcome the numerous bureaucratic constraints that have been constantly raised to CV Interilhas, so that this service becomes a reality”, he explained.
Last week, at a press conference held in Mindelo, the management of CV Interilhas regretted the constraints felt in the connections caused by three of the five ships in the fleet, admitting that the shipping company should resume normal travel at the end. of this month’s current.
CV Interilhas holds the concession for maritime transport of passengers and cargo in Cape Verde since August 15, 2019, for a period of 20 years.
