Football/São Vicente: New management team “very satisfied” with first hundred days at the helm of AFSV

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The new social bodies of the Football Association of São Vicente (AFSV) completed the first hundred days post-election, which makes “very satisfied” the team led by Amílcar Rocha, with their eyes on the organization and restructuring.

Elected last August 5th, the current board elected to place São Vicente football “at the level it deserves to be” as one of the challenges of the mandate, but Amílcar Rocha, in an interview with Inforpress, remarks that the organization is essential, “it is ahead”, and that the achievement or not will be a consequence of the work.

I work to stop the decline of São Vicente football, which he said was one of the reasons that led him to apply, on an island that “has always been in the forefront and leading” Cape Verdean football.

“I felt that we were losing hegemony, especially in the youth levels and in women’s football, and also in the senior men’s, and another reason for the candidacy was to see that São Vicente last year did not have a representative in the Cabo Verde Cup”, he said. Rocha, whose past in football, as a footballer, indicates passed to clubs such as Estoril, Atlântico, Académica do Mindelo, Batuque and Sporting da Praia, before Brazil, where he studied and continued to play football.
