This Monday, in São Vicente, training sessions began on “Screening of alterations in the Neurodevelopment of children aged 0 to 5 years”, an initiative of the project “Tudu fidjo di Cabo Verde – Inclusion of Children and Young People with Neurological Disabilities”. The actions, with three neuropediatricians from Hospital D. Estefânia, from Portugal, will run until tomorrow, the 22nd, and will then go to the city of Praia, between the 23rd and 25th.
Within the scope of the project “Promoting the Inclusion of Children and Young People with Neurological Disabilities”, the cities of Mindelo and Praia will host, between the 21st and 25th of November, several training sessions on “Screening of alterations in the Neurodevelopment of children from 0 to 5 years old ”.
As per a press release, the training for Pediatricians, General and Family Medicine Doctors and other health technicians started today, in São Vicente, at Hospital Baptista de Sousa.
Tomorrow, the 22nd, the same training given by a team of 3 doctors, Neuropediatricians, from Hospital D. Estefânia, Portugal, will take place at the Health Department on the island.
Actions on the Beach
After São Vicente, these health technicians take the same actions to Santiago.
On Wednesday, 23rd, the team composed of 3 doctors, Pediatric Neurologists, will provide training at the Agostinho Neto University Hospital in the afternoon (13h-15h).
On the same day, they will go to a meeting with parents/guardians of children at the FECAD Rehabilitation Center in Cidadela.

On the following day, the 24th, it will be the turn of Pediatricians, General and Family Medicine Physicians and other health technicians from the northern region to receive a training session on “Screening for Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Children from 0 to 5 years old”.
The training takes place at the Hospital Regional Santiago Norte.
On the 25th, the team of three health professionals from Hospital D. Estefânia holds training at the Tira Chapéu Health Center and, later, has a meeting with parents/guardians and teachers of children with SEN, at the Eugénio Tavares School .
Promoting integration and inclusion
Remember that the project to promote the inclusion of children and young people with neurological disabilities has as its main objective to improve the quality of life of people with neurological disabilities, specifically promoting the integration and inclusion of children and young people with neurological disabilities.
This is an ongoing project until August 2023, financed by the European Union, co-financed by Camões – Instituto da Cooperacao e da Língua, IP
Its implementation brings together the Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr (IMVF), the Association for the Support of Self-promotion Initiatives (SOLMI) and the Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities (FECAD).
