Africa-Press – Cape verde. The works “Batuku e Nos Alma”, “Dançar com as Tartarugas” and “Peixeiras” by Cape Verdean painter Leontina “Leomar” Ribeiro are representing Cape Verde at the 14th Cultural Week of Forum Macau.
The exhibition “Lusophone Polychromies”, which brings together eight artists from Portuguese-speaking countries and China, runs from 18 November until 11 December.
Don Sebas Cassule from Angola, Luciano Drehmer from Brazil, Lemos Djata from Guinea-Bissau, Walter Zandamela from Mozambique, Maria Leal da Costa from Portugal, Olavo Amado from São Tomé and Príncipe, Jafet Potenzo Lopes and Lio Man Cheong , from Macau are other artists whose works are on display within the framework of the 14th Cultural Week of Forum Macau.
Three videos about Cape Verde
Cape Verde presents, in this edition, three videos, the first of which is about Carnival, audiovisual productions about parties and popular traditions, among other free themes of a cultural nature.
The other video is entitled “The Son of a Man Who Wants to Build a Piano” to accompany Luís Baptista, a “Luthier” from São Vicente who has been following with innovation the legacy of his father, one of the greatest masters of instrument making in Cape Town. Verde, the late Mestre Baptista.
The third video is a short film on the theme of transsexuality in the story of “Dona Mónica”, one of the first transgender people on the island of Santiago, by producer Kori Kaxoru Films and director Carlos Yuri Ceuninck.
14th Cultural Exchange in Macao
It should be recalled that the Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries is organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Commercial Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), in coordination with the Institute for the Promotion of Trade and Investment of Macao and the Macao SAR Tourism Bureau.
The event also has the support of the Macau-Cape Verde Friendship Association, and other Portuguese-speaking associations in Macau.
