Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Judiciary Police identified and seized about 717 kilograms of cannabis, in plantations of this plant, in the town of Tronco, in Ribeira Grande de Santiago.
The seizure was made through the Central Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime Investigation Section (SCITECO), – Internal Traffic Brigade – in the
sequence of inspection of fields with cannabis cultivation, on Friday, October 7th.
In total, 717 kg (seven hundred and seventeen kilos) of cannabis herb were seized in that locality, of which 17 kg (seventeen kilos) were ready to be placed on the market.
Subsequently, a 38-year-old man of Cape Verdean nationality, 38 years old, residing in that locality, was detained outside the act of committing a crime.
It should be noted that, according to the PJ, the incineration of all the drugs seized at the scene has already been carried out, after the scientific police have carried out their weighing. The detainee was presented in legal time to the competent judicial authorities for the purpose of the first judicial interrogation of the detained defendant and application of a personal coercive measure, having been applied the most serious measure – Preventive Prison.
