Africa-Press – Cape verde. Accessible Beach/Sea for all”, by Teresa Mascarenhas and Edmilson Tavares from Associação Acarinhar is the winning idea of ​​the 15th edition of Sport BootCamp, which took place in the city of Praia from the 20th to the 25th of this month.

In second place was “Ami é de Paz e Bó”, by Bernardo Almeida “Djaló”, and in third, “Art and Sport as a form of Social Integration”, by Pedro Elias Tavares. The business ideas were presented in the final pich session that took place on Saturday, 25th, at the Poeta restaurant, in Achada de Santo António.

According to a note sent, 14 business ideas in the sports sector were presented, with a total of 22 participants in this edition of Sport BootCamp, which was the third to be held in the city of Praia since 2019.

“The final session summarized an intense week of work by the participating groups, 16.5 hours of workshops and more than 20 hours of mentoring with experts in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sports”, he explains.

The same source highlighted that Sport Bootcamp has already had 14 editions held in Cape Verde and one in São Tomé and Príncipe since 2019. “It has more than 250 certified promoters and some projects implemented”.

During the week, participants received training in specific areas for business formalization such as Business Planning and Management, Financing Methods and Organizational Development.

According to the same source, the winning ideas now move on to the second phase of the competition, the Sport Accelerator Lab, which begins on June 3, 2024.

“This second phase will bring together the best ideas from the 2023/24 Sport BootCamp editions that took place in Porto Novo, Santo Antão, São Filipe, on the island of Fogo, Vila Nova de Sintra, in Brava, Tarrafal de Santiago and in the capital , city of Praia”, he points out.

This will be the 3rd edition of the Sport Accelerator Lab, which is an idea acceleration program that begins with an intensive week of in-person training, followed by six months of mentoring carried out remotely.

During this process, around 130 hours of training will be taught and more than 40 work tools will be provided.

The Sport BootCamp and Sport Accelerator Lab programs are funded by the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee and implemented by the social enterprise WeCare.
