Africa-Press – Cape verde. The mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca, refuted the accusations of Damião Medina who accuses him of “attempting to assault” the leadership of the Political Commission Concelhia do Porto Novo, Santo Antão.
For Aníbal Fonseca, “there is no conspiracy” but a “normal electoral process” for the April 3 elections in Porto Novo, and he denies that Carlita Santos’ candidacy for the CPC is a “ghost”.
“There is no robbery process here. There is a democratic process underway, and I, Aníbal Fonseca, as a militant of the MpD, have rights and duties, one of which is to be elected and to elect representatives of my party to the municipal bodies”, says Aníbal Fonseca to A Nação.
Fonseca completely excludes the accusation of conspiring against Damião Medina, who is re-candidate for the leadership of the CPC, and emphasizes that the elections are democratic and free and the party’s militants, as he says, have the right to choose.
In this case, as stated by Aníbal Fonseca to our newspaper, the choice was made to support the candidacy of the teacher and MpD activist, Carlita Santos, “with the capacity to lead the party”, and denies that this candidacy is a “ghost”, in an attempt by the Chamber itself manage the party in Porto Novo, as accused Damião Medina, in an open letter.
