Aeroportos e Segurança Aérea, from now on implements the concept of aeronautical information management (AIM) and makes available the publication of aeronautical information (AIP) of Cape Verde. The publication, which is part of the modernization of navigation services, will be in electronic format.

The implementation of the Aeronautical Information Management concept is, according to the institution, another important step towards the modernization of the air navigation services it provides, in line with strategic initiatives and global and regional priorities in the field of civil aviation.

The project aims, as he explained, to introduce a collaborative structure focused on the management and exchange of aeronautical data and information between operators and service providers of the civil aviation system, and to improve the processes of updating and making available aeronautical data and information.

The implementation of this project brings a set of advantages to the Cape Verde air traffic management system, including alignment with international requirements, better data integrity, punctuality and accuracy, the construction of a flexible ATM system, with favorable in terms of costs and the environment and improve the predictability and efficiency of the ATM network.

“With the project, ASA evolves from a model of publishing aeronautical information on paper to a digital and data-centric concept, which meets the needs and opportunities, present and future, within the framework of the modernization of air navigation services provided in the FIR. (flight information region) oceanic region of Sal”, he explained.
