Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cabo Verdean international athlete Andralino Semedo won fourth place in the half-marathon at the Iberoamerican Championships in Alicante 2022 (Spain) on Sunday morning, beating his own record, with a time of 1:06:39.
Luis Ostos, from Peru, was the winner of the Alicante half-marathon, who made the course in 1:04:46, and António Jesus Poblete, from Argentina, was in second place with a time of 1:04:47, while the Spanish Jorge Blanco closed the podium with a time of 1.05:26.
“For Cabo Verdean international Andralino Semedo, who participated this morning in the half-marathon race in Alicante, it was simply a memorable moment that will be in the history of national athletics,” the Cabo Verdean Athletics Federation said in its statement.
With the new personal record set at 1:06:39, Semedo still had the merit of almost climbing the podium, finishing fourth in the overall competition, said the source.
