Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the Cabo Verdean Swimming Federation (FCN) considers that Boa Vista has “excellent conditions” to develop a water sports tourism, but based on a “broad consensus” for a vision of development in the economy from the sea.
The president of FCN, Avelino Bonifácio spoke at the panel “Water sport and tourism”, at the Sports Forum 2022 on tourism supported both of competitions which are events or internships, but also water sport as a leisure activity.
Avelino Bonifácio referred to the characteristics of the Boa Vista Island as “the largest extension of white sandy beaches in the country”, number of hotel rooms, three ZDTI that include the beaches of Santa Monica, Chaves and Morro de Areia, sectoral tourism planning, and other sets of mainly natural potentialities such as coasts, beaches, as being conducive to the development of nautical sport.
Avelino Bonifácio also pointed out the water temperature, the winds, the combination of protected beaches, open beaches, as “excellent” combinations of the Boa Vista Island for the development of water tourism, especially swimming in the open water modality.
