Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cabo Verdean international basketball player Ivan Almeida expressed his happiness after the signature as the new reinforcement of Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Portugal) for this season.
“Happy to announce that I will play for Benfica this season. Extremely happy to be here in Portugal again, to represent one of the great clubs in this country”, published the Creole basketball player on his social network page.
Ivan Almeida, 32, announced that he will use the number 96 of the eagles basketball club, in honor of (9) his brother Joel Almeida, and (6) his usual number he used in the teams he previously represented and he uses in the national team of Cabo Verde.
The athlete hopes to be able to help the red club to achieve the goals recommended for this season and said he hoped to count on the support of fans on his return to Portugal.
