The “Bola Pra Frente” team was crowned two-time regional football champion at the under-17 level, in Santiago Sul, by beating EFSOD, by 4-3, on penalties, in the final played, yesterday, at Sucupira field in Achada San Antonio. The team will represent the region in the under-17 national.

During regular time, the result was a 1-1 draw, with goals from Bruno, for “Bola pa Frente”, and Yaya, for Achadinha Baixo’s team.
“Ball forward” is part of group B
The Bola pa Frente team will represent Santiago Sul in the National Under-17 Championship and will be part of group B, whose games will be held in Cidade da Praia, together with representatives from Maio, from Santiago Norte (Grémio Nhagar), do Fogo (Academic) and Boa Vista.
In Group A, based in São Vicente, there will be EFIZ (title champion) and the champions of Sal (Gaviões), São Nicolau (Ultramarina), São Vicente (Batuque), Santo Antão Sul (Académica do Porto Novo ) and Santo Antão North (Solpontense).
“Final four” still undecided
The top two in each group qualify for the “final four”, whose location will be announced “soon” by the Cabo Verdean Football Federation (FCF).
The national under-17 football championship will take place from March 25th to April 8th, in Praia and Mindelo.
