Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Delegation of the Cabo Verdean Institute of Children and Adolescents (ICCA) in Brava has prepared a program of activities to commemorate the month of June, the Child Month, focusing on alerting society to the children protection.
Speaking to Inforpress, the psychologist and ICCA technician on the island, Mileida Cabral explained that the program is practically full, with daily activities, and involves the institutions of the island and in partnership with the Media, it is intended to make a “strong campaign” to “wake up” the Brava society in this case, about the fragility of children and adolescents and the recurrent cases of sexual abuse and exploitation that have happened in recent months.
The program begins on June 1st in Furna, where a set of activities will be held in order to provide children with a different day, with recreational and cultural activities, with various games such as bag racing, dance, music, riddles, among others to be complemented with activities in the village of Nova Sintra, which are also being organised by the City Hall.
On June 3, the “Silent March” will be held under the theme “Zero tolerance for sexual abuse/report 8001020 or 132”, to draw attention of all civil society to the issue of sexual abuse and exploitation of child, leading people to reflect.
