Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Justice Joana Rosa said on Monday that Cabo Verde is aware that, even in a small dimension, it must and can contribute to the development of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
“We are aware that, even in a small dimension, we can and must contribute to the development of a region belong us, which can value us greatly and will certainly be also strengthened with the contribution of this small nation in a small dimension, but great in character, culture and ambition,” she said.
Joana Rosa was speaking at the opening of the International Conference “Model of Integration in ECOWAS”, which is being held by the ECOWAS Court of Justice in the city of Praia.
Also in her statements, the Minister stressed that the archipelago’s path for integration has been, several times, hampered by the specificities of Cabo Verde and the fact that, not infrequently, the country does not have enough knowledge to act assertively.
