CAN U-20 Qualification: Cape Verde beats Liberia 2-0

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The national under-20 football team beat Liberia 2-0 this Sunday, 28, in their debut in the qualifying matches for the 2023 CAN under-20. The game took place at the Cheikha Boidya Stadium, in Mauritania.

The goals of the national team were scored by Tutucho, from Botafogo, from the island of Fogo, and Luís Maurício, the Salense who represents Valar from Lisbon, in Portugal.

Cape Verde returns to the field on Tuesday, 30th, to face Gambia and ends the competition on September 1st and 3rd, facing Guinea-Conakry and Senegal, respectively.

group B

The Union of West African Federations (UFOA) Zone A tournament takes place in Nouakchott, Mauritania, from 28 August to 11 September.

Cape Verde is part of Group B, along with Liberia, Senegal, Guinea-Conakry and The Gambia.

The top two in each group qualify for the semi-finals to be played on September 8th, with the final on September 11th.

The final stage of the African U-20 Cup of Nations is scheduled for 2023 in Egypt.
