Africa-Press – Cape verde. The national football team began training today at the FCF Training Centre for the match against Egypt, this Friday, the 15th, at the National Stadium, for Group C of the CAN’2025 qualifiers.

For the match of the fifth and penultimate round of Group C, the coaching team led by Pedro Brito, known as Bubista, had the support of some of the players called up, who were enthusiastic about facing the leader Egypt, who had already qualified.

The coach said he did not expect it to be easy and that Cape Verde will play with the goal of returning to winning ways, knowing that there is no room for error, which is why only victory is important for the “Blue Sharks”, as the Cape Verdean team is known.

The players who took to the synthetic pitch on this first day of training at the Training Centre were also aware that they are expecting difficulties, but are optimistic that, with hard work, Cape Verde can achieve their goals and return to winning ways at home.

The Cape Verde vs Egypt match will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday.

The sixth and final matchday, which will take place on Tuesday 19th, will be played against Mauritania at the Cheikha Ould Boidiya Stadium in Nouakchott at 3:00 pm local time (2:00 pm in Cape Verde).

Cape Verde is in third place in Group C, with three points, the same as Mauritania, in a group led by Egypt with 12 points and Botswana in second place with six points.

According to the FCF, the top two teams will qualify for the 2025 CAN, which will be held in Morocco.
