According to statistics from the International Basketball Federation, in a game where Ivan Almeida was Cape Verde’s top scorer with 20 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, one block, and four steals, Cape Verde lost the first quarter 19-12, won the second and third quarters 26-17 and 27-22, and lost the fourth and final quarter by two points, 19-17.
Cape Verde plays again on Friday, the 28th, for the second round, this time against South Sudan, a match preceding the game between Libya and Morocco.
