Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verde will receive next week a group of 46 specialist doctors from Cape Verdean communities based in the United States of America (USA), the Minister of Communities, Jorge Santos, announced this Saturday, 13th, in the city of Praia.
Santo Antão (for a period of 12 days), São Vicente, the city of Praia, Santiago Norte, Fogo and Sal are the regions covered by the arrival of these experts, who at the end will hold a scientific conference to present the ongoing study of the relationship between the USA and Cape Verde in the health area.
The governor, who gave this news, during the inauguration ceremony of the new governing bodies of the Cape Verdean Alumni Association of the United States (ACA-USA), said that “a good part of these technicians left Cape Verde as students and today they are giving back to the country.”
The best contribution that a Cape Verdean can make to Cape Verde, he summarized, is to form his own path, himself, empower himself to be able to also be up to helping the country’s development”, assured the minister.
“Cape Verde’s relationship with the USA is part of the history of the Cape Verdean nation and the formation and formatting of what is today the Cape Verdean Creole nation”, he asserted, having highlighted that the USA welcomes the largest Cape Verdean community based in the diaspora, estimated at more than 750 thousand inhabitants, up to the fifth generation.
