Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean Government will study regulatory proposals and legal diplomas to improve the civil aviation sector in the country, according to a new competition to hire a legal consultant.
“ The objective of the consultancy is to develop a set of proposals in terms of legal and regulatory initiatives” , based on best international practices and a study already carried out on the sector, according to Lusa, in the announcement published on Thursday by the Ministry of Finance and Business Development.
The Government intends to “ make the air transport sector in Cape Verde more attractive, competitive and resilient ”.
The recruitment of a legal consultant is part of a project entitled “ Improving Connectivity and Urban Infrastructure in Cape Verde ”, supported by the World Bank.
According to the same source, the starting point will be a study, carried out in 2021, by the Government of Cape Verde with the support of the World Bank, which evaluated the regulatory framework and the role of the Civil Aeronautics Agency (AAC).
The document identified the most critical areas, pointed out paths and made recommendations, based on the strategic role that the Government attributes to the sector.
“ The Strategic Plan for Sustained Development (PEDS) focuses on economic development based on the economy of circulation of products and services, in which the aerial platform constitutes one of the main foundations of this economy of circulation”, taking into account Cape Verde’s privileged location in the Atlantic.
Applications for legal consultancy will be received until November 24th and the work has an expected execution period of four months, concludes Lusa.
