Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean international Stopira left MOL Fehervar, former Videoton FC and Vidi, after more than a decade, 11 years, at the service of the club. “Thanks for everything Stopi!” , announced the club of the first Hungarian football league, without mentioning the fate of the player.
It is recalled that Stopira arrived in Hungary in June 2012/2013, then aged 24. At the time, he had a three-year contract, coming from Feirense in Portugal, after spells at Sporting da Praia, Santa Clara and Desportivo da Corunha in Spain.
The Cape Verdean defender soon became one of the club’s main players, having renewed his contract over the years.
It managed to celebrate the Hungarian league title twice (2015, 2018), the Supercup once (2012) and the Hungarian Cup once (2019).
Appeared twice with Vidi in the EL group stage (2012, 2018).

No one has played more international matches for Vidi than Stopira. Appeared in a total of 51 international cup matches with Vidi (26 EL qualifiers, 10 EL group stage matches, 8 BL qualifiers, 7 EKL qualifiers).
He represented Vidi a total of 265 times in the NB I, in addition, he played 32 times in the Hungarian Cup, six times in the League Cup and once in the Super Cup final, that is, in a total of 304 games for Vidi, having scored 22 in NB I, 5 in Hungarian Cup and 4 in international cups.
He was also selected for the HLSZ Dream Team in 2018.
