Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean researcher Mónica Medina was recently distinguished with the Prize for Best Master’s Work at the University of Lisbon, in the category of Research and Infectious Diseases.
“This year in particular has been intense, full of challenges but recognition”, wrote the young researcher on her social network, thus reacting to the award.
She highlighted that this award is the culmination of “years of work and study, dedication, sleepless nights, years away from home, my family, my friends”.
Daughter of Porto Novo
The biologist, born in Porto Novo, Santo Antão, also highlighted the “effort and faith” she put in along the way, but also thanked the people who supported her “every day” and who “believed” in her.
By the way, this is not the first time that Mónica Medina is in the news in A NAÇÃO. The young woman, who carried out her research at the Laboratory of Cellular Biology of Viral Infection at the Instituto Gulbenkian da Ciência, was one of the recipients of the António Coutinho Science Awards scholarship, as we have reported .
The young woman, as we reported earlier, has stood out in scientific research in Portugal.
