Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean Yvanusa Nancy Moreira won this Thursday, 12, in Istanbul, Turkey, the first fight in the 2022 Elite Women’s Boxing Championship, against the Moroccan Olympic athlete Bel Habib.
The athlete won the fight by technical KO, in the 63-66 kilograms category, as her opponent, the Moroccan, ended up getting injured in the first minute of the fight.
After this first phase, Nancy Moreira returns to the ring this Friday, 13th, now to face Kenyan Oloo Everline Akiny, labeled as the best African athlete of the moment.
According to the organization, in the category in which Yvanusa Moreira is competing, 28 athletes are registered.
Athlete of the Arena Fight Team, in Portugal, Yvanusa Moreira is a Bronze medalist in the 2021 AIBA Turkey tournament, and a gold medal in the AIBA Sweden tournament, and is looking to qualify for the Olympic cycle towards Paris 2024, while remaining committed to maintaining invincibility in the professional field.
