The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Sotavento (CCSS), Marco Rodrigues, argues that there should be effectively a “free movement” of entrepreneurs from the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) at the level of the intercontinental organization.
“The entrepreneurs have to have long-term visas and be able to move to Europe at any time without major problems,” said the CCSS leader, who was exhausted by the situation the CPLP entrepreneurs have been passing through, for example, to Portugal.
Speaking to Rádio de Cabo Verde (RCV), he admitted that the major suppliers to the Portuguese-speaking African countries are in Portugal, adding that Portuguese entrepreneurs have not had difficulties moving in these spaces, but the opposite is “serious and of enormous complexity”.
However, Marcos Rodrigues prefers to talk about difficulties arising from Portugal’s commitments to the Schengen space, of which it’s a member, rather than believing in the Portuguese authorities’ negligence.
