Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Observatório da Cidadania Activa de Cabo Verde today asked that in 2023 the country reinforce its commitment to inclusion, fair and balanced development and the adoption of a “true social policy” for the most needy families.
“We have to be more sensitive and bolder in the implementation of measures that can effectively improve the living conditions of those who are facing serious difficulties, aggravated even more by the crises that the world is experiencing and with strong impacts on the quality of life. of many citizens”, defended the president of the Observatory, Orlando Lima.
Lima recalls that extreme poverty is, “unfortunately”, a reality, “which deserves a strong fight”, thus guaranteeing the realization of the basic rights of citizens, including access, in dignified conditions, to food, health, education and housing.
“By doing so, we will be complying with some of the principles of the universal declaration of human rights”, he reinforced.
Tolerance and dialogue
On the other hand, the Observatory hopes that Cape Verde will continue on the paths of peace, tolerance, dialogue and the affirmation of active citizenship as fundamental values, in a democratic State based on the rule of law.
“For this, we aim for each citizen to exercise, responsibly, their rights and duties to build a Cape Verde with more happiness for all of us”, he encourages.
To the families, he also sends his best wishes for a happy and prosperous year 2023.
