Africa-Press – Cape verde. In an interview with the press, the mayor of Maio assured that the resumption of the work is “fully negotiated”.
“We believe that work will resume this week,” he said.
Scheduled to be completed in 90 days, that is, in December 2024, the work was paralyzed for months, since the municipal elections.
The urban and environmental redevelopment of the Shell Zone is budgeted at R$16,000, with financing from the Tourism Fund.
Rely Brito also guaranteed that work on the Porto Inglês fish market would resume “this month,” guaranteeing “better working conditions” for the city’s fishmongers.
“Right now, everything depends on the contractor to resume construction. We expect work to resume this month, so that the fishmongers finally have a decent space to process and sell their fish,” he emphasized.
The work is budgeted at 15 thousand contos, of which around six thousand were financed by the Government, through the Environmental Fund and the Fisheries Fund.
The remaining amount is covered by the budget of the Maio City Council.
