Africa-Press – Cape verde. The City Hall of São Filipe honors, this Thursday, Ricardo José de Barros, better known as Pazim di Fêmea, “a distinct figure” of the flag festivals and “the most famous” cook on the island.
The tribute, which fits within commemoration of the centenary of the elevation of São Filipe to the category of city, consists in giving the name “Pazim di Fêmea” to the street where the honoree lived for decades.
Ricardo José de Barros, or Pazim di Fêmea, was “a distinct figure” of the flag festivals and “the most famous” cook of the island, having been the main patron of the São Sebastião festivals, over several decades, first in his native town, João Garrido and later in the city of São Filipe, according to the authors of the tribute.
Employee of the then Administration of the Municipality of Fogo and the Administrative Secretariat of Fogo, after national independence, had in charge, for several years, the municipal inn intended to receive employees from the Administration / central government in their trips to the island of Fogo.
