CNDHC and Associação Zé Moniz strengthen partnership focused on the promotion and defence of human rights

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Commission for Human Rights and Citizenship (CNDHC) and the Zé Moniz Association today signed a cooperation protocol which aims to contribute to the promotion and defence of human rights in Cabo Verde.

The act of signing was initialled by the president of the CNDHC, Eurídice Mascarenhas, and the president of the Zé Moniz Association, Manuel Faustino, with the protocol lasting one year and may be renewed for an equal period, if the parties agree.

Speaking to the press, Manuel Faustino said that the Zé Moniz Association intends, with this partnership, to contribute to reducing social exclusion and promoting and guaranteeing of human rights.

“The exclusion is not just for young people, we have important portions of our population in the process of exclusion. There are important measures that must be implemented for the reduction of extreme poverty and we, have to be an important force both in terms of defending rights, and where we can in terms of supporting measures, which aim to help these people to have material conditions of dignified lives,” he said.
