Africa-Press – Cape verde. The cumulative incidence rate of COVID-19 nationwide is 1965 per 100.000 inhabitants, with all municipalities registering numbers higher than 150 per 100 inhabitants.

The information was provided this Tuesday by the National Director of Health, Jorge Noel Barreto, at the usual press conference on Mondays, to assess the pandemic situation in the country.

Also on the same occasion, Jorge Noel Barreto said that in the period from January 3 to 16 a total of 31.346 samples was analyzed, which gives a daily average of 2.200 samples analyzed, which allowed the identification of a total of 11.068 new cases of COVID-19 in Cabo Verde, representing an average of 791 cases per day and a possibility rate of 35.3%.

“In the previous 14 days, i.e., from December 20 to January 2, a total of 21.481 samples were analyzed, which gives us a daily average of 1.534 samples analyzed, we identified 4.562 new cases, an average of 326 new cases per day in this period, corresponding to a positivity rate of 21.2%,” he compared.
