Africa-Press – Cape verde. The artisans association UniArt – Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, proposed this Monday the inclusion of the cultural space of the cultural village, in the city of Porto Novo, in the municipality’s tourist circuit in this new cruise season.
As it is a space where artisans are exhibiting their products, UniArt – Porto Novo expressed the desire to see this space included in the tourism route in this peak season of tourist activity in Santo Antão, so that tourists arriving at island can discover and purchase the work of these artists.
“With the start of the new cruise season, which coincides with the high season of tourism in Santo Antão, we suggest you visit the cultural village of Porto Novo and get to know the extraordinary work done by our creative artisans through the exhibition and sale of their products, organized by UniArt – PN”, explained the same source.
With the exhibition, which runs from Monday to Saturday, the artisans, according to UniArt – Porto Novo, intend to publicize their products “giving greater visibility” to those who, directly or indirectly, are linked to this practice that has contributed to local development”.
Some artisans, approached by Inforpress, say they hope that the cultural village space will permanently receive tourists who visit Santo Antão, similar to what happens with the Porto Novo tourism office, which receives visitors daily to obtain information about this municipality and the “mountain island”.
