Africa-Press – Cape verde. The vice-president of the Pan-African Parliament today expressed satisfaction at the promulgation of the decree-law establishing Cabo Verde’s embassy in Addis Ababa, stressing that this decision demonstrates the country’s commitment to realising the policies of the African Union (AU).

Lúcia Passos, who heads a delegation from the PAP’s West Africa Regional Group, made these statements to Inforpress at the end of a meeting between the group and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Miryan Sena Vieira.

According to the deputy, the five instruments that need to be ratified were presented, highlighting that Miryan Vieira reaffirmed Cabo Verde’s engagement and commitment to the African Union, not only in relation to the ratification of instruments, but also in the application of the policy for the development and sustainability of the African continent itself.

“She also highlighted the issue of the African Charter protocol on democracy, elections and governance, which has not yet been ratified, but Cabo Verde has been complying with everything written in that African Union legal instrument,” she said.
