The Cruise Atlantic Islands Association (CAI), made up of the ports of Cape Verde, Madeira, Las Palmas and Tenerife, will meet today and tomorrow, in Mindelo, with a view to jointly promoting Macaronesia destinations at the two largest tourism fairs in the world. cruise ships and in specialized magazines.
As announced by ENAPOR, as a way of imprinting a new commercial dynamic on the association, partners start to meet annually, on a rotating basis, to address issues related to strategy, market analysis, trends and definition of marketing and promotion of the destination.
This is, according to the same source, one of the actions that ENAPOR has taken, in order to project the Atlantic corridor as a destination and increase the number of ships and cruise passengers that call at Cape Verde’s ports.
“From a future perspective, of destination qualification and according to the government’s vision for this sector, we are currently building the first cruise terminal in the country”, he recalls, referring to the Mindelo terminal, whose works were launched in last January.
The first CAI meeting starts today, at 3 pm, at ENAPOR’s headquarters, in Porto Grande, and is attended by the Minister of the Sea, Abraão Vicente.
