Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cabo Verde Telecom was the target of a cyber attack, which began in the early hours of Thursday, the 19th, causing disruptions to VOIP, customer service, television and mobile voice services, the company announced today.

According to CV Telecom, the problem on the network was intercepted immediately, taking action to identify and contain the effects and restore services.
Among the services affected, normality has already been reestablished in VOIP and mobile voice services.
“The seriousness of the criminal act to which we were subjected implies detailed recovery work, involving CVTelecom technicians and external suppliers” , says the company.
It also advances that the recovery process and consequent stabilization of affected services will happen progressively.
“Cabo Verde Telecom remains absolutely determined to restore normality to all services in the shortest possible time and deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to customers” , highlights the note.
CV Telecom states, on the other hand, that so far it has no evidence that customer data has been accessed and/or compromised. But it guarantees that an in-depth investigation will be carried out into this act, which it considers criminal, with the involvement of competent authorities.
The company promises to update information on the status of services as the situation progresses.
