Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cyclist Nélio da Cruz achieved, this Friday, the 4th, in Cape Verde’s debut at the Cycling World Cup, the best time among Cape Verdean athletes, in the Gran Fondo modality, for amateurs.
The athlete was in 104th position among 270 cyclists, with a time of 4:00:33, Leonardo Cosme in 232nd position in 4:30:30, Ruben Lopes finished in 241st position in 4:37:47 and Eliezer Soares in the 266th position with a time of 5:25:28.
The first classified was the Belgian Lars Van Coppenolle, with a time of 3:51:20.
The cycling world takes place in Glasgow, Scotland. Cape Verde participates with six regular cyclists and a substitute to represent the country in the competition that runs until August 6th.
