Africa-Press – Cape verde. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Olavo Correia is in Washington, attending the annual World Bank and the International Monetary Fund meeting, which takes place from 17 to 23 this month, where global economic issues will be discussed.

The meeting, according to Government information, brings together finance ministers and central bank governors from the member countries, executives from International Financial Institutions, the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations and academics.

The aim is to discuss issues of global economic importance, as well as specific issues that are part of the global economic agenda, at a time when the world is facing the great crisis, facing the global economy, international development and the world’s financial system.

“This meeting in Washington is another opportunity for the Government of Cabo Verde to continue to strengthen bilateral contacts with the country’s main development partners and establish new strategic partnerships,” a statement read.
