Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Decree-Law that regulates the use of State vehicles on weekends and holidays for public service leaders provides for a fine of 10,000 to 70,000 escudos for violators.

The measure is contained in Decree-Law No. 10/2023 published on 27 January in the Official Gazette (BO), as part of the need to progressively rationalize costs and reinforce control and discipline in the use of this public good.

The implementation of the new legal regime, which globally, effectively and coherently disciplines the management of the State vehicle fleet (PVE), covers acquisition in any of its modalities, leasing, allocation, use, inspection, slaughter, alienation or destruction.

The measure applies to the direct administration of the State, regardless of its degree of autonomy or independence, to services, public institutions and public companies, regulatory agencies, foundations and public associations, autonomous funds and services, as well as projects financed under international cooperation and public development assistance.
