Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Director General of Agriculture, Eneida Rodrigues, today assured that the lack of labour is one of the biggest challenges faced by farmers across the country and appealed to young people who are unemployed to take advantage of this opportunity.
“I appeal to young people who are unemployed to take advantage of this opportunity of farm work, at this time, which many farmers have complained of a lack of labour, to earn their money, which helps them to support themselves and their families as well,” stressed Eneida Rodrigues, in an interview with Inforpress, as part of the balance of the agricultural campaign that has been underway in the country since June and under preventive measures to combat possible pests.
According to this official, at the level of seed distribution by INIDA, she advanced that farmers did not make any complaints, since they sold the seeds at an affordable price, as well as the plants already ready to be placed on the soil.
In this regard, he explained to farmers that buying the plants is also a more efficient way to obtain the products quicker and with less time for its development.
