Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean Medical Association (OMC) regretted, this Sunday, the death of doctor Kevin da Silva Guilherme, victim of a car accident, on the island of Maio. Born in São Vicente, he was in service on the island since 2020.
Kevin da Silva, 34, was born in São Vicente and was posted on the island of Maio, in 2020, as part of the group of doctors to support the fight against covid-19.
“É com pesar que a Ordem dos Médicos informa que faleceu o médico Kevin da Silva Guilherme, natural de São Vicente, aos 34 anos de idade”, informou a organização, em comunicado de imprensa.
According to the WTO, the doctor completed his degree in Medicine in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, at the University of Blida. He returned to Cape Verde in 2019.

He was enrolled in the Ordem dos Médicos since May of the same year, followed by an internship in Mindelo, before being placed on the island of Maio.
After completing the service mission in the fight against covid-19, he remained on the island as a staff of the Ministry of Health, exercising other functions, in the Health Police Station.
The Cape Verdean Medical Association and its associates express, to family and friends, “the most sincere feelings of solidarity and condolences for the felt loss”.
