Domestic flight operator in Cape Verde and union meet after advance notice of strike
The Transport, Telecommunications, Hotel and Tourism Union (SITTHUR) presented a strike notice with five demands.
According to Lusa, the company’s 15 pilots are asking for an update in salary and benefits (such as food and fuel allowances), payment of holidays, timely payment of allowances, reactivation of license insurance and transport facilities.
Amílcar Neves, permanent secretary of SITTHUR, told Lusa, on Friday, that there is “openness to dialogue, despite the strike notice”.
The proposals presented by the company at the beginning of the month were not enough to convince the pilots, said the union leader, highlighting that “everything will depend on what is achieved” at today’s meeting.
According to the same source, Américo Borges, general director of the airline, said at the same time that the company’s stance “has always been open to dialogue ”.
The person responsible for Bestfly reserved details about the labor proposals for the negotiating table.
