Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene, David Araújo, reiterated today that Easter is a celebration that remembers liberation from the yoke of Satan and the new victorious life that can be had in Christ Jesus.

David Araújo, who spoke to Inforpress, as part of the Easter celebrations that are celebrated this year on April 20, stressed that to understand the message of Easter, we must return to the Bible, which is the Word of God, that Christ came as the light of the world, as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

“Christ gave his life on the Cross of Calvary for the remission of our sins. And Easter, for us, is a celebration that reminds us of liberation from the yoke of Satan and the new victorious life that we can have in Christ Jesus,” he emphasized.

Realizing that today, “often”, the celebration is more about tradition, and there is a risk of participating in the celebration of the ceremony and missing the essential, which is the message of Easter, Pastor David Araújo said that what the church seeks to do is to focus, to draw people’s attention to spiritual truths through Easter.

“And may each person receive the sacrifice of Christ and confess their sins. The Word is certain that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness, and we become a new person. Therefore, the message of Easter is the message of salvation and it reaches every individual, anywhere in the world. Another strong message is the victory over death itself,” he emphasized.

Considering, on the other hand, that sin is an “enemy of the human race” that brings diseases, disagreements and injustices, among other evils, to every corner of the world, based on the Gospel, David Araújo pointed out that the Word says that Christ came to undo the works of Satan, and death itself, the “last enemy” of the human race as well.

“Human beings are afraid of death, afraid of what lies beyond this time here on Earth. We have the guarantee with the death and resurrection of Christ and His ascension into heaven that we too will one day experience the resurrection and be with Him. Life does not end here. Therefore, Easter is the foundation of our Christian faith,” said the evangelical.

As for people who do not believe in God and much less consecrate their lives to Christ, the Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene said that each person has their own free will and, based on the information they have, chooses to follow one path or another.

“God is patient and, strictly speaking, I believe that for some convenience we define ourselves in an area far from God, but the real conviction of the human heart is that God exists. We may not have an intimate relationship with Him, but God exists. We can see God in nature, in the works of creation… nature itself attests to the existence of God,” he explained.

And for these people, he advises serenity, analysis and a “deep introspection” in relation to all the information they have received and, during this time, to reflect.

“I think we need constant reflection. I believe that this is a time for introspection and serene reflection, and God through the Holy Spirit does the part of convincing men of their need,” he concluded, noting that the suffering of the world is the choice of man living on this planet, and not the expressed desire of God.
