Africa-Press – Cape verde. Electra reported, this Sunday, that between March 27th and April 1st there will be a considerable decrease in water production in São Vicente, affecting its normal distribution, due to the carrying out of preventive maintenance in the island’s two desalination units.
According to the company’s statement, the measure is part of efforts to improve the efficiency of desalination units, aiming to increase both the quantity and quality of drinking water available to the population.
The company emphasizes that it is working to minimize the impacts of this operation and normalize water distribution from April 2nd.
To deal with the situation, Electra is appealing to customers to fill their reservoirs in distribution areas in order to have a water reserve during the affected period.
