The Cape Verde embassy in Morocco is now official and was inaugurated yesterday, Tuesday, 30th, in Rabat, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration of Cape Verde, Rui Figueiredo Soares, and his Moroccan counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residents Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

According to a press release, during the act, the two ministers underlined the strategic importance of having an Embassy in Rabat for the elevation of relations between the two countries to a “much higher” level and in the “greater rapprochement between the two peoples”.

The head of Cape Verdean diplomacy said it was a “special and very important moment”, thanking the Moroccan authorities for their collaboration.

The diplomat, who has been on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, since last August 29, and will continue until tomorrow, September 1, held a meeting yesterday with the Minister of Transport and Logistics, having discussed the opportunities for the exploration of cooperation in the field of air and maritime transport and capitalizing on the presence of

«Royal Air Maroc» in Cape Verde.

Also part of the program of that visit, a working meeting with the Moroccan counterpart in which it is expected the signature of a visa exemption agreement in diplomatic and service passports, an air agreement and the cooperation agreement between the two Ministries within the scope of the Diplomatic Academy. , as well as the trip to the Dakhla Region and inauguration of the Consulate.

Likewise, “important progress”, says the note, was achieved in the sense of the signing of the visa exemption agreement in ordinary passports between the two countries soon.
