Africa-Press – Cape verde. Engineer João Fonseca is the PAICV candidate for president of the Municipal Assembly of Porto Novo in the 2024 municipal elections, having been presented this Saturday to the activists in this municipality.
The information was confirmed to Inforpress by the first secretary of PAICV in the Porto Novo sector, Jairson Tavares, who said that the party structures took advantage of an assembly of activists, this Saturday, to present the candidates for president of the city of Porto-Novense and the municipal assembly, Elisa Pinheiro and João Fonseca, respectively.
Elisa Pinheiro had been announced on Friday by the president of PAICV, together with the other candidates for mayor of this party in this year’s municipal elections.
With the presentation to the activists of the two candidates, the PAICV, according to Jairson Tavares, began “ a new start and a new way of doing politics with the aim of freeing the municipality of Porto Novo from the doldrums in which it finds itself immersed”.
“ This is a candidacy with a clear commitment to victory to serve all Porto Novo residents without discrimination. Never before has Porto Novo needed change and a new vision so much ”, noted the local leader of the main opposition party.
