Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Fladu Fla Theatre Company and the Cape Verdean Society of Authors (SOCA) signed a collaboration agreement this Friday, the 28th. The agreement is annual and renewable.
On the occasion, the president of Fladu Fla, Sheila Martins, stated that this signing of the agreement marks an important step in the promotion of the creative industry and in the protection of artists’ copyrights.
“This is a commitment, recognition and appreciation of our work, ensuring that art and its creators are respected and protected”, she said.
On the other hand, the president of SOCA, Danny Spínola, emphasized that the proposal to allocate an amount to Fladu Fla is very important, because the entity has already distributed a lot of copyrights in the fields of music, literature and visual arts.
“We are considering theatre because we have already considered many areas in the field of art, and theatre had not yet been considered. It is a very special moment to make this protocol, so that Fladu Fla can continue to advance and do the worthy work that it has excelled in all this time”, she emphasizes.
On the same occasion, the Cabo Verde Cinema Association presented an award to the Fladu Fla Theatre Company, in the context of the 50th Anniversary of Cabo Verde’s Independence and the association’s 13th anniversary.
“Receiving this award from the Cabo Verde Cinema and Audiovisual Association is a sign that theatre and cinema are increasingly united in the mission of telling new stories”, emphasizes the president of Fladu Fla.
Sheila Martins said that this recognition reinforces the importance of continuing to produce, innovate and inspire and show the world the richness of our cultural identity. “I thank everyone and reaffirm Fladu Fla’s commitment to continue fighting for the strengthening of the arts in Cabo Verde. Together we are stronger”.
