Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, began this Monday, April 1st, a three-day visit to the Fogo/Brava region to verify the implementation of projects linked to his Ministry.

Fernando Elísio Freire began his visit with a meeting with the municipal team of São Filipe and today, the second day, the program includes a meeting with those involved in the productive social inclusion program of the island’s municipalities, namely, municipal councils, non- government and training entities.

After the meeting, the head of the Family, Inclusion and Social Development portfolio will visit the activities of the program’s beneficiaries and, later, the training action for caregivers with the delivery of kits.

On Wednesday, the holder of the Family, Inclusion and Social Development portfolio will visit the municipalities of Santa Catarina do Fogo and Mosteiros where he has scheduled a meeting with council teams, a review of ongoing social projects and a meeting with beneficiaries of social income and inclusion (RSI – Fundo Mais).

The Government, remember, has established as one of its priorities the fight against social inequalities, namely the elimination of extreme poverty and the reduction of absolute poverty with a focus on policy measures that favor social and economic inclusion and promote the dignity of the person human.

In this context, the Government, through the Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, has implemented and has ongoing programs to combat poverty and promote family empowerment.

Among the programs, social income and inclusion, the social and productive inclusion program (PISP), the national care program, the comprehensive family support service, the national care system, fund mais, ENEPE, stand out. national gender equality plan, national program for the reception and social (re)integration of returned migrants, in addition to other municipal programs and projects financed through program contracts with municipalities.

Social inclusion income is a program that aims to guarantee households an income to satisfy their basic needs for food, access to health, education, social assistance and reinforce social and productive inclusion activities, helping in the process of autonomy.

The productive inclusion program aims to create significant opportunities and promote social and productive inclusion across the country and was extended to the period 2023-2026 and is expected to cover more than five thousand beneficiaries nationally.
