Africa-Press – Cape verde. Sanjoanense and Académica qualified for the final of the Porto Novo Cup, Sporting Region of Santo Antão Sul, by winning the respective games of the semi-finals of this competition played this Saturday.
In the first game of the semi-finals of the Porto Novo cup, Sanjoanenses beat Tarrafal by 5-0, while in the second game Académica beat Inter by 2-1.
The final of the Porto Novo cup will be played on the 25th of March.
Since the 1997/98 season, when the sporting region of Santo Antão Sul was created, Académica do Porto Novo is the team with the most cups won, 13, with Marítimo having four and Sporting, Sanjoanenses and Tarrafal one each.
This season, the Porto Novo cup is also taking place at the under-17 level, whose final will be played between Sanjoanenses and Académica.
