Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Portuguese-Cape Verdean footballer Renato Sanches, international for Portugal, was presented today as a player for Roma, in the Italian league, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG, France). In Rome, Sanches will be coached by Portuguese coach José Mourinho.
“Renato is a player we have followed for a long time (…) he has the technical and physical qualities to fit perfectly in our midfield, making it even more competitive”, evaluated Tiago Pinto, director general of football at Roma, quoted by the Portuguese newspaper Abola.
Roma pay €1m for the loan and the buyout clause is set at €15m. If Renato Sanches plays 60% of the games this season in the Italian formation, the purchase clause becomes mandatory.
Sanches spent only one season at PSG, having joined Lille in France last summer.
The midfielder trained at Benfica (Portugal) has also played for Bayern Munich (Germany) and Swansea City (Wales), on loan from the Bavarians.
