Football: Portuguese-Cape Verdean coach praises the quality of sports infrastructure in the country

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean coach Rui Costa, who is on holiday in Cabo Verde, today praised the quality of sports infrastructures in the country, and considered them “acceptable” compared to the African and European context

“I didn’t expect the country to be so developed in terms of sports infrastructure. To be honest, the many comments on social networks that I have heard are unfortunate”, said Rui Costa, who has been visiting some sports venues and football stadium during his stay in Cabo Verde.

Rui Costa, who last season won the Isthmian League North, a regional competition for teams in London (England), with Brentwood Tow’s under-23 team, also says that many football teams in Africa and Europe still train on bare pitches.

For the young coach, the infrastructure is acceptable for the level of Cape Verdean football, which according to him, has young players of great technical quality, “out of the ordinary”, emphasising, however, that they have much to improve at the tactical level.
